My Background...

I have been fishing the American West for the past ten years and never get tired of searching around the bend or seeing a fish rise to a perfectly presented fly. It is this passion for fly-fishing and the humbling acknowledgment of what a day on the river can teach you about life that I have decided to share my experience and love for fly-fishing with beginner to intermediate anglers. A high-school teacher by day, I have unlimited patience and know how to break down the intricacies of approaching and reading the water, positioning, as well as fly selection, presentation and casting.

Here is How it Works:

I will meet you on the river, one of your choice, or I can recommend one depending on your level of skill and desire to travel. Whether you are a beginner or intermediate angler, I can either teach you the basics or enhance your ability to hook up with fish. We can do a half-day or a full-day guide. For most, a half-day suffices and you can spend the rest of the afternoon putting to use your new knowledge of fly-fishing.

What you NEED:
•A good attitude and willingness to listen and learn.
•Fly rod and reel (complete with fly line).
•Waders and Boots.
•Leader and tippet (or I can provide for additional $12 and you get to keep)
•A select fee flies (or I can provide given 4 days notice).
•Water and snacks.

What I will provide:
•Patience and education.
•Great attitude and willingness to listen as well as teach.
•I will rig up your rod and tie on your flies (and teach you how if you need to know).
•Discussion on approaching a river and various water sections, where to look for trout, identifying natural flies on and beneath the water, positioning when casting, casting lessons, mending lessons and line control, both in and out of the water.
• I will discuss BOTH dry fly fishing or nymphing (below the surface).

My guarantee:
• I guarantee you that I will work patiently and diligently to teach you the sport of fly-fishing and if you are unsatisfied in any way, you will NOT be charged for the session.
